News Today Live Updates, April 29: The Pakistan military continued to violate ceasefire on the Line of Control (LoC) for the fifth consecutive day, carrying out unprovoked small arms firing from areas opposite Kupwara and Baramulla districts in Kashmir. The Indian Army returned fire in a measured and effective manner, said Lt Colonel Suneel Bartwal, PRO (Defence), Northern Command in a statement. The tensions between India and Pakistan escalated after a terror attack in Kashmir’s Pahalgam, where attackers opened fire on tourists in the Baisaran valley, killing 26 civilians. In its preliminary probe, NIA suspected that there were a total of five attackers, with at least three of them having links to Pakistan.
