Sangareddy: GITAM deemed to be university Hyderabad said over 800 students from different disciplines got placements as a record 270 plus companies participated in the recruitment drive this year.
Interestingly, public sector company Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) inducted as fixed term engineers from E-II grade. The top recruiters include Accenture (91), Tech Mahindra(87), Rinex Technologies (70), Ernst and Young GDS (54), TCS (34) and Cognizant (27). Varsity authorities said 80 per cent of students who participated in campus placement drive got job offers while 40 more companies were still waiting to carry out recruitment drives to induct GITAM students in the next couple of months.
While Priyanka Reddy, a BTech (CSE) student, got a Rs 1.4 crore job offer from Amazon, another student received a Rs 60 lakh offer from Atlassian. While Microsoft offered a Rs 51 lakh job offer to a student, Virtusa International offered a Rs 47.9 lakh job offer to another student. However, the average package the GITAM School of Technology students got was Rs 6 lakh per annum while School of Business students got Rs 7.5 lakh per year average package.
