After enjoying a successful stint at the top in Tollywood, Pooja Hegde has seen her career graph dip significantly. Big-budget Telugu films like “Radhe Shyam” and “Acharya,” along with Hindi releases such as “Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan” and “Deva,” failed to make an impact at the box office.
In response, Pooja has shifted her focus to Tamil cinema, where she currently has four projects lined up. The first of these, Retro, starring Suriya, is set for release on May 1st.
“Retro” has generated considerable buzz, especially after its recently released trailer went viral. The film is directed by Karthik Subbaraj, and she plays a very traditional woman in deglam outfits.
The promotional campaign for “Retro” has helped her as well. Interestingly, despite a string of flops, Pooja Hegde reportedly charged an impressive amount for the film.
