Telangana bags Rs 1,500 crore biogas deal

Hyderabad: Telangana has bagged another 1,500 crore investment in compressed biogas (CBG) production facilities with South African player, Biovest Holdings, joining hands with Hyderabad-based Spantech Engineers (India) and EcoMax Energy (India) to initially set up 20 CBG plants across multiple districts in the state.
The three players have inked a bilateral technology transfer agreement, as part of which Spantech will supply its biogas purification systems called BioGenie to Biovest, which in turn will licence its breakthrough containerised modular anaerobic digestion technology called Herba, which is capable of 3X biomethane yields, to be manufactured locally by Spantech in Hyderabad.
