He also stressed the appointment of nodal officers in each district to monitor and coordinate relief measures.
Citing data from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the minister said 588 mandals in the state have been identified as heatwave-affected. He further announced a significant increase in ex-gratia for heatwave victims — from Rs 50,000 to Rs 4 lakh — following the state’s declaration of heatwave as a state-specific disaster.
Chief secretary K Rama Krishna Rao and other senior officials attended the meeting.
