All Eyes on Who Will Be Next Nizamabad DCC Chief

Nizamabad: Several Congress leaders are eagerly waiting for the new president of the District Congress Committee (DCC) in Nizamabad district. Social and political equations will play a key role in the selection of the new president. Interestingly, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president B. Mahesh Kumar Goud belongs to Nizamabad, and party leaders are hopeful that a suitable leader will be picked up for the post.

In Nizamabad district, TPCC chief Goud and senior MLA P. Sudarshan Reddy will play key role in picking DCC president. After Meenakshi Natarajan took charge as AICC in-charge for Telangana, party leaders believed that multiple options were gathered for the DCC president.

Names of former MLC Arikela Narsa Reddy, former Nizamabad agriculture market committee chairman K. Nagesh Reddy, former TPCC secretary N. Ratnakar are doing the rounds for the post. Narsa Reddy had worked for the Telugu Desam in undivided Nizamabad as district president for more than a decade. Being a senior leader, his name was picked up by the state leadership for Nizamabad district Congress committee president post.

S. Nagesh Reddy is also strongly aspiring for the district president post. He belongs to Nizamabad rural Assembly constituency. He and his son aspired for MLA and MP tickets in 2023 and 2024 elections, but in vain. Youth leader Narala Ratnakar is also hopeful that the party high command will give him a chance as DCC president under Backward Classes (BC) quota. Ratnakar belongs to a strong Munnuru Kapu community and is known as a close aide of former APCC president D. Srinivas.
