Hyderabad:The Rachakonda police have banned meetings within a 200-metre radius of all NEET UG-2025 examination centres on April 4. The restrictions will be in force from 6 am to 8 pm to ensure smooth conduct of the exam.
Rachakonda police commissioner G. Sudheer Babu issued the notification on Friday, invoking powers under Section 163 of the BNSS, formerly Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
The order prohibits the assembly of four or more persons around the exam centres. Exemptions have been granted to police personnel, home guards, military staff on duty, education department’s flying squads and bona fide funeral processions. Sudheer Babu warned that any violation of the prohibitory orders will invite prosecution under Section 163 of BNSS.
Vacation Benches to Hear Urgent Cases Every Wednesday
Hyderabad:The summer vacation will commence at the Telangana High Court on May 5 and continue till June 6. During the vacation, every Wednesday, the vacation benches will hear urgent cases. The first vacation court will sit on May 7 featuring a division bench comprising Justice Surepalli Nanda and Justice J. Sreenivas Rao and a single bench headed by Justice Pulla Karthik. The second vacation bench will be held on May 14, with a division bench comprising Justice Pulla Karthik and Justice Nandikonda Narsing Rao and Justice J. Sreenivas Rao will head the single judge bench. The third, fourth and fifth vacation benches will sit on May 21 and 28 and June 4.
NEET-UG: Telangana Sets Up 190 Centres
Hyderabad: Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao has directed collectors to ensure the smooth conduct of the NEET-UG on May 4. He said 190 centres had been set up for the NEET and 72,507 candidates had registered. Hyderabad district has 62 centres with 26,000 candidates attending.
Candidates would be allowed to enter the exam centres between 11 am and 1.30 pm. The examination will be conducted from 2 pm to 5 pm.
He said that three levels of security would be arranged at the centres. He directed officials to setting up a sufficient number of biometric machines to record candidates’ attendance.
Each centre would have a senior officer as the nodal officer, along with a police officer. CCTV cameras, drinking water facilities, and medical camps will be set up at each centre. Additional DG Mahesh Bhagwat stated that extensive security arrangements were being made in coordination with district collectors.
