Vijayawada: A festive mood prevailed in the capital city area with Prime Minister Narendra Modi kick starting the works for revival of Amaravati. Farmers of the capital city area are on cloud nine with the revival of the Amaravati.
The joy of the farmers knew no bounds as they moved to reach the venue with newfound energy. The Amaravati area, which was actually draped in sorrow and grief for five years, has retuned to full life after Naidu returned to power. The capital city farmers staged protests, dharnas, rallies for nearly five years after the previous YSRCP regime came up with three-capital cities theory only to weaken Amaravati. The farmers not only continued their protests despite police pressures and cases but also waged a resilient legal battle. The farmers stopped their 1631-day long protests after the return of Naidu-led NDA to power in last June.
Farmers felt that PM’s visit to relaunch the capital city projects brought their five-year long ordeals and trauma of the farmers to an end. The farmers of the capital city took the revival of Amaravati work as a matter of prestige and attended the event in big numbers.
The farmers in Thullur took out a rally with music band on Friday while reaching the public meeting venue. Firecrackers were burst along their way as several farmers jumped and danced to exhibit their joy.
Hundreds of women farmers were seen leading the rally to the capital city. “This is biggest festival for us as Amaravati is going to script the new history,” said Gadde Prabhavati of Thullur.
