Hyderabad: Following the National Dam Safety Authority‘s (NDSA) final report, which identified multiple deficiencies in the construction, design, quality, and operation and maintenance of the Medigadda, Annaram, and Sundilla barrages, the Telangana govt has initiated steps to safeguard the structural integrity of these key infrastructures.
In response, irrigation department secretary Rahul Bojja has forwarded the NDSA report to the engineer-in-chief (general), engineer-in-chief (operations and maintenance), chief engineer of Ramagundam, chief engineer of the Central Designs Organisation, and chief engineer of quality control.
These officials have been tasked with thoroughly examining the report’s key findings and recommendations and submitting detailed proposals to address the identified issues and ensure the long-term stability and safety of the barrages.
