3 Day Training for District EDU Officers

Hyderabad: A three-day training programme for district education officers (DEOs) will conclude on Sunday, focusing on improving school leadership and helping students perform better in academics. School education secretary Dr Yogita Rana asked DEOs to make sure that students understand what they are learning and that teachers get proper training. She said DEOs must visit schools, check how classes are being taught, and guide teachers to improve classroom teaching.

Director of school education E.V. Narasimha Reddy said that teachers have the most influence on students and must be supported to do their jobs well. He asked education officers to help students bring out their talents and skills.

Social activist Sunitha Krishnan warned about the increasing risks children face online. She said many students were falling prey to cybercrimes and online traps without even knowing it. She stressed the need to include awareness on cyber safety, Pocso Act, and IT laws in teacher training so that children can be protected.

The training is being attended by regional joint directors, principals of institutes of advanced study in education (IASE), career and technical education (CTE) centres and districts institute of education and training (DIET) and senior officials
