Hyderabad: A 28-year-old woman working as domestic help allegedly raped a minor boy at least 10 years younger than her in Jubilee Hills in Hyderabad. The police learned that the accused woman had sexually assaulted the minor more than once. She also threatened him to inform anybody about the crime; otherwise, she would level false charges of theft against the minor boy. The boy remained silent about the crime until his parents until May 1.

Unmarried, the domestic help lived in the servant quarters of her employer, next to the boy’s family. The crime was discovered after the boy’s mother, who works as a maid in the same house, filed a police complaint on Friday, reported TOI.

In her complaint, the mother reported that her manager saw the accused kissing the teen boy on April 29. Following which, she confronted the accused, who said that the boy was like a younger brother to her and admitted that she kissed him out of affection. The mother, however, warned the woman to stay away from her child.

“I reprimanded her and warned her against repeating such behaviour. When I prodded my son, he cried but did not say anything about the crime,” said the mother, the media report quoted.

Concerned about the minor, the mother, along with her husband, on May 1 asked the kid again about what happened with the accused. After which, the minor boy told his parents that the accused had misbehaved with him earlier. He stated that the woman had forced herself on him twice. She even threatened him with false accusations of theft if he disclosed the sexual assault.

On the night of May 1, the boy’s mother went to Jubilee Hills Police, and a case was filed under Section 351(2) (criminal intimidation) and Section 9(1) read with Section 10 of the Pocso Act.

“We have arrested the accused. She was taken to court and sent to judicial remand on Friday,” said Jubilee Hills inspector K. Venkateshwar Reddy.

Police added that the boy was sent for counselling at the Bharosa Centre, and his condition is stable.
