Woman Ends Life, Six Months After Marriage


HYDERABAD: Lakshmi, a 25-year-old married woman, died allegedly by suicide at her residence in Subhashnagar in Jeedimetla on Sunday morning.

Jeedimetla inspector G. Mallesh said Lakshmi was married to one Harikrishna in December 2024. Her family was on the way to the city from Srikakulam in AP, and police would be able to ascertain the cause of suicide after speaking with them.

Neighbours found her body on the ground floor and called the police.

Youtuber Held for Video on Betting Apps

HYDERABAD: The Cyberabad cybercrime police on Saturday arrested Anvesh of the YouTube channel ‘Prapancha Yatrikudu’ for alleging that senior IPS and IAS officers had swindled nearly Rs 300 crore by promoting betting apps on the Hyderabad Metro Rail. The police acted on the basis of a complaint lodged by a social media cell worker of the Cyberabad police.

The complainant stated that on April 29, he came across a video of Avnesh. In the video, Anvesh was heard taking names of DGP Dr Jitender and senior officers like N.V.S. Reddy and Vikas Raj. The title of the video was ‘Telangana DGP Metro Scam – 300 Kotlu Dochesaru’.

The complainant further alleged that Anvesh’s language was abusive, and that he normalised “anti-national” comments in the video. The complainant said the video was aimed at defaming senior officers, and mainly IPS officers, and harming their reputation and credibility.

Avnesh was booked under the BNS and the IT Act the same day. All questionable videos were deleted from his channel.

2 Killed, 3 Hurt as Car Rams Into Gas Tanker

HYDERABAD: Two men died and three others were injured after their car rammed into a gas tanker and then crashed into a divider on the Outer Ring Road near Rampally Dayara, Keesara inspector K. Srinivas said on Sunday, Among the dead were Thatiparthi Charles of Mallikarjunanagar, Peerzadiguda, and B. Yashwanth of Kamalanagar, Medipally.

Police received a complaint from Viramalli Shiva Prasad of Vivekanandanagar, Medipally. Police said the deceased along with their friends Daida Suresh, Chenna Keshava Goud and Vivek, had borrowed a car from one Vineeth and had gone to Bidar, Karnataka.

While returning from Bidar at around 8 am, Yashwanth was reportedly driving the vehicle with Charles was in the front passenger seat. Around 11 am, as they crossed Milestone 77 on the ORR when the accident occurred. While Yashwant and Charles died on the spot, the others sustained injuries, Chenna Keshava Goud was taken to a private hospital for treatment.
