Union Minister of Civil Aviation K. Ram Mohan Naidu on Monday (May 5) announced the resumption of the morning flight between Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada, with effect from June 1. This route will significantly enhance connectivity within Andhra Pradesh by linking Vijayawada with the State’s financial hub, Visakhapatnam.
The revised flight schedule is designed to provide greater convenience to frequent flyers. The morning flight, operated by IndiGo Airlines, will take off from Vijayawada at 7.15 a.m. and land in Visakhapatnam by 8.25 a.m. The return flight will depart Visakhapatnam at 8.45 a.m. and arrive in Vijayawada at 9.50 a.m.
Speaking on the development, Minister of Civil Aviation Ram Mohan Naidu said: “Regional connectivity is a cornerstone of our vision for inclusive growth and ease of travel. The reinstatement of this crucial flight link between Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam will significantly benefit passengers, boost economic engagement between the two cities and support the broader development goals of Andhra Pradesh.”
Meanwhile, while thanking the Civil Aviation Minister, AP Air Travellers Association leaders K. Kumar Raja, O. Naresh and DS Varma appealed to him to consider the revival of the connectivity to Dubai from Visakhapatnam and enhanced air link to major tourist destinations.
