Hyderabad: Two teenagers from Adilabad and Jagtial districts died by suicide, reportedly distressed over their performance in the NEET entrance examination held on May 4. The deceased students were aged 17 and 18.According to police, in Adilabad’s Utnoor, a 17-year-old boy took his life on Monday after comparing his answers with the exam key. His father, a teacher, and his mother rushed him to a hospital, where he was declared dead. “He appeared disturbed after checking the answer key,” said a Utnoor police official.In a separate incident in Jagtial district, an 18-year-old girl who was attempting NEET for the second time also died by suicide. She had reportedly been disheartened by her previous performance and was hopeful for a better result this year. However, after the exam on Sunday, she appeared distressed and ended her life at home on Monday, according to local police.Police have registered separate cases in both incidents and have initiated investigations.
