All-new Jeep Compass unveiled; gets hybrid & EV powertrains Jeep has officially taken the wraps off the all-new Compass SUV. It is built on the company’s STLA Medium platform and will be produced in Melfi, Italy.New Jeep Compass Exterior:The new Compass design takes inspiration from its elder sibling, the Grand Cherokee. It has slim LED headlights and some lighting elements on the grille. The new tail lamps feature signature LED and are wrap-around units. Both the front and rear bumpers have aggressive styling. Also seen are side body cladding, squared wheel arches, and a blackened roof. The SUV retains the boxy characteristics that are trademark of Jeep. Dimensions-wise, the new Compass is longer and wider than before. It measures 4,550 mm in length, 1,928 mm in width (+85 mm), and has a 160 mm longer wheelbase at 2,795 mm. The new Compass comes in six exterior colours: Hawaii Green, Pacific Blue, Antarctica White, Amazonia Brown, Yosemite Grey, and Volcano Black. There is a First Edition that comes with 20-inch wheels, LED matrix headlights, 360 protective material, standard cloth & vinyl heated seats with 6-way manual adjustment and 2-way driver lumbar adjustment.New Jeep Compass Interior:On the interior, the new Compass gets a new cabin layout. It gets a 10-inch digital instrument cluster and 16-inch touchscreen infotainment. The good thing is there are physical buttons as well. Additionally, it gets aluminium elements across the dashboard, centre console and steering wheel. Ventilated seats and an open-air sunroof are available as an option. The longer wheelbase translates to 55 mm additional legroom, while boot space has gone up by 45 litres to 550 litres. New Jeep Compass Powertrains:The new Jeep Compass comes with 3 powertrain options; a 143 BHP 48V Hybrid; a 192 BHP Hybrid Plug-in and 3 BEV versions, ranging from 211 BHP & 229 BHP in the front-wheel drive version up to 370 BHP in the range-topping all-wheel drive. To achieve this impressive 370 BHP, Jeep has introduced a new dedicated and more powerful rear electric motor that provides an additional 49 kW of peak power and up to 232 Nm torque. Coupling this with a 14:1 rear reducer, it translates into 3100Nm available at the rear wheels. The all-electric Compass offers a range of up to 650 km on a single charge. With a 160 kW DC fast charger, it can go from 20 to 80 percent in 30 minutes. It comes with a 22kW on-board charger as well. The 4xe all-wheel drive version has a 10mm suspension lift to boost ground clearance and give 31deg departure, 16deg breakover and 27deg approach angles. The safety kit includes Level 2 ADAS, front and rear parking sensors, and a rear parking camera. The First Edition is now available to order, with deliveries set to begin in Q4 2025. As confirmed by Stellantis before, the next generation Compass will not be launched in India. The facelifted current-gen Compass continues to sell in India, and many special editions have been launched as well.
