Minister assures a permanent fix for Eluru’s Summer Storage Tank

Minister for Housing, Information and Public Relations Kolusu Parthasarathy on Tuesday assured that protective measures will be taken to safeguard the Summer Storage Tank (SST) at Malkapuram, a key drinking water source for Eluru city. 

Speaking to media, after site inspection along with MLA Badeti Radhakrishna (Chanti), Mr. Parthasarathy said that a major crisis was averted due to the timely intervention of the officials concerned after a breach occurred in the tank. As the monsoon approaches, it is crucial that permanent safety measures are implemented to avoid future breaches. “We will work to ensure that the city’s water supply remains uninterrupted and secure,” he said.

The Minister praised Mr. Radhakrishna for promptly taking the issue to the Engineering-in-Chief and Minister for Municipal Administration Ponguru Narayana. He assured to take up the issue with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Mr. Narayana for necessary release of funds for the project.
