Indian armed forces launched missile strikes on nine terrorist locations in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), including Bahawalpur, known as a key stronghold of the Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist group.
Meanwhile, the fact check team of the Press Information Bureau (PIB) busted some fake news that is making rounds on social media platforms.
Some social media posts by “pro-Pakistan handles” claimed that ‘Pakistan Airforce has targeted Srinagar air base’ and that Pakistan had shot down an Indian Air Force (IAF) MiG-29 fighter jet.
Busting the fake news, PIB siad, “An old image showing a crashed aircraft is being re-circulated by pro-Pakistan handles in various forms in the current context of #OperationSindoor #PIBFactcheck The image is from an earlier incident involving an Indian Air Force (IAF) MiG-29 fighter jet that crashed in Barmer, Rajasthan, in September 2024.”
Additionally, PIB urged users to avoid sharing unverified information and rely only on official Government of India sources for authentic Information.
