South Central Railway (SCR) has announced that the ‘civil defence mock drill’ initiative of the Union Home Ministry would be taken up at Kacheguda, Raichur and Aurangabad stations under the supervision of controller of civil defence and deputy general manager Udaynath Kotla along with a team of civil defence volunteers and others on Wednesday (May 7, 2025).
They will simulate a hostile attack scenario to evaluate emergency preparedness and inter-agency coordination. All the departments concerned will be taking part in the drill, including blackout measures, switching of non-essential lighting, etc. The exercise aims to strengthen the overall emergency response framework and readiness of railway personnel and infrastructure in the event of a wartime emergency, as per a press release.
