A mega job fair, organised by the Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation at Malineni Lakshmaiah Women’s Engineering College here, saw participation of 48 reputed companies offering 1,426 job openings. Guntur District Collector S. Nagalakshmi, who inaugurated the event, urged unemployed youth to make the most of the opportunity.
Addressing the gathering, the Collector noted that since the formation of the new government, 30 job fairs had been conducted across the district from June to March, providing employment to 1,536 individuals through 150 companies. She emphasised the importance of job retention and encouraged youth to gain experience and pursue better roles in the future.
Prathipadu MLA Burla Ramanjaneyulu highlighted the government’s goal of providing employment to 20 lakh youth under the vision of HRD Minister Nara Lokesh. He noted that five lakh job opportunities had already been created.
Superintendent of Police S. Satish Kumar praised the initiative, calling it a valuable platform for unemployed youth. Over 2,500 job seekers had registered for the fair.
Officials assured that selected candidates would receive support if posted outside their hometowns, including assistance with language, accommodation, and training. Organisers thanked the college management for their support in hosting the fair.
