SCR officers conduct raids on unauthorised vendors at Vijayawada railway station

Officials of the commercial department of South Central Railway (SCR) conducted surprise raids at the Vijayawada railway station and collected a total fine of ₹85,000 from unauthorised vendors, on Monday.

Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, V. Rambabu, said that the officers verified the permits and the ID Cards of the vendors and booked cases on those who were selling on platforms without permits or expired permits. The raids were aimed at providing a safe journey to the passengers, he said.
