A Big Fish Caught In AP Liquor Scam?

The Special Investigation Team, SIT that was commissioned to investigate the Andhra Pradesh liquor scam that was done during the previous YS Jagan government is carrying on with the investigation effectively. After having recently arrested Raj Kasireddy, a close associate of Jagan, the SIT has caught another big fish in this case.

This time, it is Govindappa Balaji who is the director of Bharathi Cements and is believed to be a close associate of YS Bharathi. He reportedly had a crucial role to play in the money laundering activities that happened through the course of the liquor scam.

Govindappa was arrested by SIT Police in Mysore, Karnataka. The police are currently preparing the transit order to bring him back to Andhra Pradesh, where he would be investigated further with regard to details and facts pertaining to this case.

This hypo position individual had recently approached the Andhra Pradesh High Court for anticipatory bail in the liquor case, but got rejected. He then approached the Supreme Court as well, but again, the Apex court also refused to give any such order.

Despite repeated notifications from the SIT to appear for investigation, Govindappa paid no heed to the same. Subsequently, he was arrested in Mysore of Karnataka today and is likely to be shifted to Andhra Pradesh very very soon where he will be investigated with regard to his involvement in this scam.

It is safe to say that the Andhra Pradesh police at the relevant team are carrying on with the investigation fairly seamlessly.

It can also be noted that the Enforcement Directorate had also written a letter to the Andhra Pradesh police to submit the details of this case. At this rate, it must be not too for a long before the ED also gets involved with the investigation, which would truly blow up the lid and bring several big fish under the radar.
