Renault has two major products in store, slated to unveil very soon – the Duster (5-seater) and the Boreal (7-seater). Both SUVs will also make their way to India in 2026. The Renault Boreal, essentially the longer, three-row version of the third-generation Duster, will make its global debut in the coming months. The carmaker has confirmed that the Boreal will be first launched in Latin America, followed by 70 other countries. In India, it will be positioned against the Hyundai Alcazar, Mahindra XUV700, Tata Safari and MG Hector Plus.
While its official unveiling is a few months away, here’s a digital rendering that shows the expected final version of the SUV.

Design:
Upfront, the rendered Renault Boreal features a black grille with Renault’s new logo in the centre, LED headlamps, black fog lamp housing and a raised and ceased bonnet. The SUV has prominent black cladding all around the body along with squarish wheel arches, alloy wheels, a black roof with silver roof rails, body-coloured door handles and a shark fin antenna, enhancing its side profile. At the rear, the rendered model sports LED taillamps, a hefty black bumper, a silver skid pate and a small spoiler.
Dimensions:
The Renault Boreal SUV will be based on the Dacia Bigster, sharing several design elements and features with its cousin. In fact, its dimensions might also be similar to the Bigster, which measures 4.57 metre in length, 1.81 metre in width and 1.71 metre in height and has a wheelbase of 2.7-metre. Compared to the new Duster, the 7-seater Renault Duster (Boreal) will be 230mm longer and sit on a 43mm longer wheelbase.
Features:
Unlike the 5-seater Duster, the Boreal will have three-row seating arrangement. However, most of its features will be similar to its younger sibling, which is expected to come with an Arkamys audio system, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7 or 10-inch digital instrument cluster, dual zone climate control, wireless charging, a panoramic sunroof, etc.
Engine Options:
The powertrain setup of the new Renault 7-seater SUV will be similar to that of the Duster. Although official details are yet to be revealed, it’s expected to come with the strong hybrid and mild hybrid powertrain options. In select global markets, the Boreal SUV will be offered with a 1.3L turbo petrol engine producing power worth 167bhp.
