Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed the officials concerned to prepare comprehensive plans for the development of core urban region within the Outer Ring Road limits.
Officials were directed to appoint a committee of experts in this regard if need be. The Chief Minister reviewed the status of developments in the core urban region with senior officials on Wednesday. He wanted steps to be taken to liberalise the services sector in the core urban region while officials should study the scope and feasibility for putting in place single billing, easy permissions and related aspects.
He instructed the officials to examine the possibility for inclusion of GHMC, metro water board, power utilities and related departments in this direction. Steps should be taken to conduct LIDAR (light detection and ranging) survey, a surveying method using lasers to create detailed 3D models of surface, in the core urban region. The focus of the survey should on ensuring accurate mapping of properties, lakes and nalas in the region.
