TDP politburo discusses several party reforms

Vijayawada: The TDP politburo took a cautious approach regarding the reforms proposed by party general secretary Nara Lokesh, who advocated for the induction of fresh blood into the party by limiting the number of consecutive terms for anyone in any post.The TDP politburo, which met on Wednesday, decided to limit the number of terms to three for mandal party presidents only, contrary to Lokesh’s proposal that it should be implemented at all levels.The TDP politburo opined that the govt is not receiving a positive response from the beneficiaries of the free gas cylinder scheme, as the money is being paid after the delivery of the cylinder. The politburo recommended that the govt pay the money in advance for buying the cylinder. Former TDP state president K Atchannaidu stated that the decision will be discussed with Jana Sena and BJP before taking it up with the govt.In another major decision, the TDP politburo recommended paying ‘Talliki Vandanam’ money before the opening of schools and paying the first instalment of Annadata Sukhibhava along with the Union govt’s payment of the first instalment. The politburo further recommended releasing a welfare calendar specifying the dates on which benefits under various schemes will be paid.The TDP decided to hold Tiranga rallies across the state as a show of strength and unity. The TDP politburo condemned the Pahalgam terror attack and paid respects to those who lost their lives. A special resolution was passed appreciating the efforts of the Indian armed forces, with a special mention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who steered the country to victory in the fight against terrorism by launching Operation Sindoor.The politburo resolved to complete party’s organisational elections before the commencement of Mahanadu. A decision was made that mandal party presidents who served in the same post three times should be promoted or moved to a different post.The politburo also congratulated Nandamuri Balakrishna for being conferred with the Padma Bhushan and condoled the death of former legislators of the party who passed away recently. The state president of TDP, Palla Srinivasa Rao, said that the Mahanadu, TDP’s annual conclave, will be held in Kadapa district on a grand scale. As many as 50,000 invitations will be sent to all those holding party positions. He mentioned that Mahanadu is being held for the first time in Kadapa district.
