Belagavi: In a shocking incident, a 14-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped and sexually assaulted by three minor youths at a farmhouse near Sawgaon in Belagavi district.
Based on the complaint filed by the victim’s mother, a case is registered under various sections of the BNS and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
According to the complaint, the victim, a resident in a place coming under the Tilakwadi police station limits, was befriended by the accused three youths, who were aware of her being a minor. The two youths, along with a third individual (whose name and details are not known according to the complaint), allegedly took her to a farmhouse on May 10 around 2.30 pm.
At the farmhouse, the victim was reportedly forced to consume alcohol by the three boys, who then touched her inappropriately. Of the three boys two allegedly raped her.
While the name of two who allegedly raped her are known, and named in FIR, the name of the third one is unknown to the victim.
Based on the complaint, the police have filed case on May 11 under BNS Sections 137(2) (Kidnap), 309 (4) (Robbery), 70(2) (gangrape of a minor), 352, 3(5) and Section 4(2), 6 and 7 of POCSO Act.
Police officials secured one of the accused on Tuesday and produced him before the JJ Board.
