Update on my Volkswagen Polo after replacing a few wear and tear parts

The car is now driving at its best. Magic carpet ride- the mounts are excellent, and precise handling

New parts for my Polo

There were some wear and tear related issues that had cropped up – steering rack had a slight sound on checking with car on service lift, link rods had slight wear on rubber, right shockaborber mount bush had compressed over time. So I took the car to Mechanix after pre-arranging everything. Sushant and his team diagnosed a few other issues- front sway bar bushes needed replacement and Pendulum mount was broken.

So we installed Meyle shockab mount and link rods, and changed the sway bar bushes. Pendulum mount is on back order with ASS, Goregaon W. New steering rack was installed.

I’m exploring the idea of a larger brake kit now, as at high speed, the existing system take an uncomfortably long time to slow the car.

On my way to Pune, I got petrol filled at Jio BP (which has a choice of E20 or ‘pure’ petrol). But the silly attendant, despite knowing the auto cutoff is not working, let the fuel overflow out of the filler cap inlet. About 10 litres extra went in. The car is driving fine, but I hope there is no damage to the EVAP. Will have it checked at the ASS on visit for pendulum replacement, and am witholding the fuel payment until I get an All Clear from ASS.
