Burglars steal 67 tolas gold, Rs 2.5L cash from bizman’s house | Hyderabad News


Hyderabad: Burglars struck at the residence of a businessman at Chaderghat and decamped with 67 tolas gold and 2.5 lakh cash on Friday night. Apart from the booty, interestingly, the burglars polished off the fruits and other edibles in the kitchen.Police suspect someone known to the family may have committed the offence.On Friday evening, businessman Mohammed Faheemuddin’s wife went to attend on her sister-in-law, who was hospitalised. Both Faheemuddin and his brother Khaja Moinuddin, whose wife was hospitalised, reside in Azampura, but in different houses.“Around 11 pm on Friday, Faheemuddin and his daughter had dinner and then went to sleep. While Faheemuddin slept in his bedroom, his daughter slept in an adjacent room. Late in the night, a burglar entered their house through the kitchen window,” the Chaderghat police said. Later, the accused went to the other bedroom and ransacked the room, including an almirah. “The keys of the almirah’s door were kept in a bag, which was hung from the handle. The accused opened it and started ransacking the rows, where he stumbled upon keys for the locked compartments, where valuables were kept. Using the keys, the accused opened the compartments and stole the valuables,” .police said. When Faheemuddin woke up at 4am on Saturday, he found the adjacent bedroom ransacked and realised that a burglary took place.Apart from gold, the accused had stolen cash, a mobile phone and a watch.Based on the information given by Faheemuddin, the accused, at the time of committing the offence, also went to the kitchen and consumed fruits and other edibles. After the family members informed the Chaderghat police, they reached the spot and started the investigation by calling the forensic team and sniffer dogs. Police were verifying different CCTV footage, including those in Kachiguda. A team of officials is camping at the Kachiguda police station to check CCTVs to trace the movements of the suspects. Police registered a case and six teams were formed to trace the accused.
