Our pace was simply perfect for a relaxed Sunday morning ride.

With not a single Whatsapp motorcycling group witnessing Sunday morning ride plan discussions, I reached out to a fellow TBHPian to see if he was available for a quick breakfast ride to Kanakapura, for some of those famed dosas. Normally, we ride past Kanakapura and then slowly circle back for our leisurely breakfast. This time, I was told that the section beyond Malavalli was eye catching and with the benefit of time on my hands, I agreed to ride till there, not knowing how far away it was. Our pace was simply perfect for a relaxed Sunday morning ride, fast enough that we were making good progress and measured enough, that I could enjoy the picturesque surroundings. Eventually, we had to pull over and acknowledge the fact that it was time to turn around.
The ride back to Kanakapura was at a noticeably quicker pace, with the Suzuki VStrom 650 not even pretending to break into the thought of breaking into a sweat. The plucky Suzuki GSXRRRRRR 250 was more than happy to pushed hard, ensuring that it wouldn’t let its bigger brother slip out of its reach. The return ride was so much fun that it masked my hunger pangs and the sumptuous, albeit delayed, breakfast was well worth it. In the end, I reached home a couple of hours later than what I had originally anticipated but the smile that you get after thoroughly enjoying a blissful 240 kilometer long Sunday morning ride, was hard to wipe off my face.
