Nine persons are feared dead after an early morning blaze inside the home near Gulzar Houz in Charminar in Hyderabad on Sunday (May 18, 2025) morning. The family members were sleeping when the fire and smoke swept through their ground floor home behind the colonnaded Patthergatti area near Charminar. According to fire department officials, 10 fire tenders were rushed to the place to douse the blaze.
Some of the injured have been shifted to two private hospitals.
Eight of the dead have been identified as Abhisekh Modi (30), Rajender Kumar (67), Munnibhai (72),  Sumitra (65), Iraj (2), Arushi Jain (17), Harshali Gupta (7), and Sheetaj Jain(37). Two children and a minor are battling for life in different hospitals.
The cause of the fire has not been ascertained by fire department officials who have cordoned off the area. More details are awaited.
