Modi to Inaugurate New Warangal Railway Station on May 22


Warangal: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to inaugurate the new building of the Warangal railway station virtually on May 22. The Centre is committed to the development of railways in Telangana and, as part of this agenda, had upgraded the Warangal station at a cost of Rs 25.41 crore, said BJP state leader Errabelli Pradeep Rao.

Speaking to media persons during an inspection of the new building, Pradeep Rao said the Warangal project was a part of the Indian Railway’s broader vision to modernise stations across the country and offers world-class amenities to passengers. The facilities at Warangal railway station include spacious foot overbridge, escalators, lifts, ramps, landscaping, modern food courts and commercial complexes.

The Warangal station has four platforms and manages 137 trains daily. It serves an average of 31,887 passengers each day. Special attention was also paid to meet requirements with providing modern infrastructure, restrooms including AC waiting halls and ultramodern lounges, storage rooms, drinking water points and ATMs with 24/7 surveillance, he informed.
