Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar hit out at the Congress government in Telangana alleging that the ruling Congress dispensation has failed to allocate adequate funds to the ongoing Saraswati Pushkaralu in Kaleshwaram of Jayashankar Bhupalpally district.

Speaking to the media at Pushkar Ghat in Kaleshwaram on Monday, Mr. Sanjay alleged that the State government allocated a meagre ₹35 crore for the mega 12-day religious event, which is expected to draw an estimated 50 lakh pilgrims to the sacred pilgrimage site.

“There is no objection in conducting Miss World 2025 contest, but it is deplorable on the part of the Congress government to show scant regard to the allocation of adequate funds for the once-in-12-years mega religious event being held in Kaleshwaram,” he said.

He criticised the BRS government for ‘neglecting’ the ancient Sri Kaleshwara Mukteshwara Swamy temple in Kaleshwaram despite making ‘tall promises’ to allocate ₹100 crore for the development of the ancient temple.

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy should translate his promise of allocating ₹200 crore for the development of Kaleshwaram temple into action, he said.

Earlier in the day, Mr. Sanjay along with his wife Aparna took a holy dip at Triveni Sangamam in Kaleshwaram.
