Kurnool: Industries and commerce minister T.G. Bharath directed sanitation supervisors and municipal staff to prioritise cleanliness in Kurnool city.
In a review meeting held on Monday with commissioner S. Ravindra Babu and other officials, he warned that any lapse in sanitation would result in strict action against the staff concerned. Stressing that the city should emulate Visakhapatnam in cleanliness, he instructed that those littering public spaces be warned and penalised if they repeat the offence. The minister also stated that individuals erecting banners in front of CCTV cameras would be held responsible if any accidents occur due to visibility obstruction.
Commissioner S. Ravindra Babu urged sanitation teams to coordinate effectively and remove sewer encroachments. He added that the government plans to set up a waste-to-energy plant to convert waste from Kurnool and nearby municipalities into electricity. Public Health Officer Dr Visweswara Reddy, In-charge SE Seshasai and others attended the meeting.
