Five NFL games we can’t wait to watch in the 2025 season
The NFL schedule for the 2025-2026 season has been released. Here are a few games on our must-watch list.
The Las Vegas Raiders spent a first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft on Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty.
Their first order of business with the No. 6 overall selection? Getting him to adopt a new backfield stance.
Jeanty has long used an unorthodox stance that sees him remain upright at the start of each play. The practice has earned the star running back comparisons to Michael Myers, the serial killer antagonist in the “Halloween” movie franchise.
But Jeanty has been receptive to making changes, as he detailed to Kay Adams in an appearance on her “Up and Adams” show with FanDuel TV.
“You know, sometimes you gotta, you know, go with the flow,” Jeanty explained.
The process of Jeanty changing his stance began during a conversation with new Raiders offensive coordinator Chip Kelly on the first day of rookie minicamp.
“He’s like, ‘You play basketball? You ever play basketball?'” Jeanty detailed. “And I’m like, ‘Yeah, I play basketball, you know I can dunk and all that.’ He’s like, ‘OK, show me how you would guard me,’ and he’s acting like he’s holding the ball.”
Jeanty proceeded to mime how he would guard Kelly in front of him.
“That’s exactly why you have to be down in your running back stance,” the veteran coach responded.
As such, Jeanty conceded to Adams that Kelly has “won for now,” so the 21-year-old will look to change his pre-play approach during his rookie season.
That said, the Boise State product isn’t entirely closing the book on his iconic stance.
“I’m going to try and persuade him one day,” Jeanty said. “I got to earn my stripes and make some plays first, but I don’t think it’s going to be the end.”
