Kurnool: Flight services between Kurnool and Vijayawada will commence on July 2, said Minister of Industries and Commerce T.G. Bharath.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the minister said the services would initially operate three days a week, Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
He added that Union Minister of Civil Aviation K. Ram Mohan Naidu had assured that the services would soon be extended to all days of the week. Terming the launch of air connectivity between Kurnool and Vijayawada a welcome development, Bharath said it would play a key role in boosting industrial development in Orvakal.
The minister recalled that he had met the Union civil aviation minister several times after the formation of the NDA government and discussed the matter of restarting air services from Kurnool. He thanked the Union minister on behalf of the people of Kurnool for promptly responding to the request and making the air services a reality.
