Hyderabad: A theft of hard disks was reported at the high security Raj Bhavan, the official residence of the Telangana Governor in the city, creating a stir.
Four hard disks were stolen from the Sudharma Bhavan in Raj Bhavan. The Raj Bhavan officials, who learnt about it after recently examining the CCTV footage on the premises, have lodged a complaint with the Punjagutta police.
The police immediately registered a case and started an investigation.
As per available information, Srinivas, a computer hardware engineer working in outsourcing who was reportedly involved in the theft was arrested.
The theft took place on May 14, when Srinivas entered the computer room wearing a helmet and stole the hard discs on the first floor of Sudharma Bhavan in Raj Bhavan.
The police are investigating why Srinivas stole these hard discs and suspect if anyone else was behind the act. It is learnt that the hard disks contained crucial information and important files.
Meanwhile, the theft in Raj Bhavan, which is constantly under high security and CCTV surveillance, has caused a stir.
