In the teaser, it was almost evident that a face-off between a father and his adopted son is going to be the major conflict of the story.
Following the teaser, some netizens on social media started to compare it with Vijay’s Jilla, which also has a similar premise, as the adopted son, Vijay, tries to control the criminal activities of his father, Mohanlal.

At the same time, some people are responding that since Thug Life was directed by Mani Ratnam, we cannot predict the movie solely from the teaser, as he always includes surprising twists.
