Six men from Telangana released from Malaysian jail meet BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao on Wednesday.

Six men from Telangana, hailing from Lingapur in Kadam Mandal and Munyal in Dasturabad Mandal of Adilabad district, and jailed in Malaysia returned to India with the efforts of BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao.

The six members — Rachakonda Naresh, Talari Bhaskar, Gurujala Shankar, Gurijala Rajeshwar, Gunda Srinivas and Yamunoori Ravinder — had travelled to Malaysia last year in search of employment. They were arrested and jailed due to ignorance of local laws.

Upon learning of the situation, KTR directed Khanapur BRS in-charge Bhukya Johnson Naik who met with the imprisoned individuals in jail. He hired legal counsel expedited the legal proceedings leading to their release.

The rescued individuals met KTR at his residence and thanked him for their safe return. They said the Indian Embassy did not help them much and recalled how the Chinese government makes efforts to get their nationals released immediately providing legal help.
