Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky got off to a terrible start to the new campaign.
There was a lot of anticipation heading into their season opener against Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever, only for the Sky to suffer an embarrassing 93-58 blowout loss at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
The good news for the Sky is that they get an opportunity to make amends for that deflating defeat as they return to the court on Thursday. What makes it even more exciting is the fact that Chicago gets to play at Wintrust Arena in their first home game of the season.
The team shared a post on social media on the eve of the big game, where they battle Sabrina Ionescu and the defending champs, the New York Liberty. The Sky announced the performers for their home opener, headlined by rapper Dreezy for the halftime show.
The team also revealed that several in-arena activities, such as a temporary tattoo station and a limited edition t-shirt giveaway, await fans.

It is only fitting that Reese was used as the cover photo for the post, alongside fellow sophomore Kamilla Cardoso. Reese turned in a noteworthy effort against Clark and Co., finishing with a 12-point, 17-rebound double-double, but the fact of the matter is that it was far from enough to help Chicago avoid a shellacking at the hands of their biggest rivals.
Reese will be looking to make a bigger impact on Thursday when they face another tough test in the Liberty. The silver lining is that they get to play in front of their home fans for the first time this season, which should give Reese and the Sky a major boost.
