The Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS) at Sanathnagar is set to be developed into a tertiary care facility focusing on cardiac care, cardiothoracic surgeries, and organ transplantation. This was highlighted during a visit by senior officials to the under-construction hospital on Wednesday, May 21.
Health Secretary Christina Z. Chongthu, along with Roads and Buildings Secretary Harichandana Dasari and Hyderabad District Collector Anudeep Durishetty, inspected the site to assess progress and push for early completion of the hospital. The visit was aimed at expediting construction and strengthening coordination among various departments involved in the project.
Senior medical professionals and administrators from leading institutions such as Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS), KIMS Hospital, Yashoda Hospital, and AIG Hospital were also part of the review. They offered expert guidance and strategic recommendations to enhance the hospital’s clinical and infrastructural framework, said a press release from the health department.
The release further added that the officials conducted a walkthrough of the facility, followed by a detailed review meeting. A plan of action has been drawn up based on the visit to accelerate the remaining work with improved inter-departmental synergy.
