The State Government on Friday (May 23) officially declared the change of headquarters of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University (BRAOU) to Eluru in Eluru district and Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University to Rajamahendravaram in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh.
Two G.O.s signed by Education Secretary Kona Sasidhar, released to this effect on Friday, said the Governor of Andhra Pradesh had officially declared the change of the headquarters. G.O. No. 23 said the headquarters of Potti Sriramulu Telugu University will be at Rajamahendravaram in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh, while Srisailam in Nandyal district, Rajamahendravaram and Kuchipudi in Krishna district will have three campuses of the university.
G.O. 24 said the new headquarters (after bifurcation) of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Open University will be located near Eluru in Eluru district and that all the existing study centres in Andhra Pradesh will come under the jurisdiction of the university.
