Kari Apla Brings Coastal Indian Flavours To Hyderabad

Celebrated Mumbai-based chefs Mathew Varghese and Ebaani Tewari of Kari Apla bring their signature regional Indian fare to The Glass House, Jubilee Hills, on May 24 and 25.

The two-day pop-up promises a nostalgic dining experience rooted in the flavours of India’s Malabar and Konkan coasts.
The event is a celebration of slow-cooked curries, fiery chutneys, and fresh seafood served in traditional banana leaf .

”Kari Apla is about recreating the food memories of our childhoods and there is an element of nostalgia in all the dishes we prepare.” shares Chef Mathew whose roots lie in Kerala, though he was raised in Kolkata. “We explore the rich diversity of South Indian cuisine, focusing on dishes from the interior regions” he added.

Chef Ebaani, who has Maharashtrian roots said, ” It is a blend of coastal dishes from both western and southern India and is not limited to a single state.”

Lunch session is between 12–1:45 PM and 2–3:30 PM, and dinner from 7:30–9 PM and 9:15–10:30 PM.

Kari Apla was founded in 2023. It has quickly earned popularity in Mumbai for its regional Indian cuisine. The name is a fusion of Karivepila meaning curry leaves in Malayalam and Kari and Apla, meaning our curry in Marathi.
