Tirupati: Travel between Kurnool and Vijayawada will become much easier with the launch of daily flights between the two cities in Andhra Pradesh from July 2. Confirming the development to reporters, state minister for industries, commerce and food processing TG Bharath said, “Until now, flights were being operated between Kurnool and Vijayawada only thrice a week.But with Kurnool and Nandyal districts witnessing rapid progress on the industrial front as the country’s largest solar project was established near Orvakal. This apart, several other renewable energy projects were being grounded in the two districts in the recent times. Hence, there has been a demand from the industrial circles and business communities for the launch of daily flights between Kurnool and Vijayawada.”“When we took the issue to the notice of the Union civil aviation minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu and explained to him about the need for the introduction of daily flights between Kurnool and Vijayawada, he was convinced and directed the civil aviation department to initiate the measures immediately”, the industries minister noted.TG Bharath exuded confidence that the launch of daily flight services between Kurnool and Vijayawada will further boost the industrial progress of both Nandyal and Kurnool district in the near future.
