Yogotsav 2025 held in Mangaluru with 750+ participants


Mangaluru: The Yenepoya Naturopathy and Yogic Science College and Hospital, a constituent unit of Yenepoya (Deemed to be University), hosted YOGOTSAV 2025 at the Yendurance Zone on 24 May 2025. The event marked Countdown Day 28 as part of the Ministry of Ayush’s national campaign “100 Days, 100 Cities, 100 Organisations”ahead of International Day of Yoga (IDY).

Inauguration and dignitaries

The day began at 6:30 am with an inaugural ceremony featuring key dignitaries. Dr Anandh K, CEO of Zilla Panchayath, Dakshina Kannada; Dr U T Ifthikar Ali, Chairman of Allied Healthcare Council, Karnataka; Dr Mohammed Iqbaal, District AYUSH Officer; and Mr Praveen Bagambila, Vice President of Kotekar Town Panchayath were present.
Dr Ashwini Dutt, Dean of Academics, Yenepoya Deemed to be University, presided over the programme. Principal Dr Puneeth Raghavendra welcomed the gathering, and Dr Sangeethalaxmi M J delivered the vote of thanks.

Mass yoga session engages over 500

From 7:00 am to 7:45 am, a Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) practice session was held with the enthusiastic participation of more than 520 students, doctors, faculty members, and local citizens. The event aimed to promote physical and mental well-being through a comprehensive yogic session.

CME on yoga for wellness and harmony

Following the yoga session, a Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme was organised for naturopathy and yoga students on the theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health.”
Two expert speakers led the academic segment:

  • Dr Vrinda Bedekar, Professor, Department of Swasthavritta and Yoga, Prasanna College of Ayurveda, Belthangady, spoke on “Yoga: Path to Global Wellness.”

  • Dr Kiran Kumar Reddy, Principal & Medical Superintendent, Rajashekharaiah Institute of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences, Solur, discussed “Inner Harmony through Yogic Lifestyle.”

The CME attracted 230 participants, contributing to a total attendance of over 750 individuals throughout the day.

Live coverage and national participation

The event was telecast live on the Yenepoya YouTube channel and was also featured by the Ministry of Ayush and MDNIY, further extending its reach across India. As one of the 100 selected organisations across the nation, Yenepoya’s successful hosting of the event reinforced its commitment to holistic health and wellness.
