Kavitha starts strengthening Jagruthi

Hyderabad: After penning a letter to her father and BRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao on his speech at the party’s silver jubilee public meeting in the first week of May, party MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha has started strengthening her outfit, Telangana Jagruthi. On May May 16, just a day before she left for the US, Kavitha appointed presidents for five wings — Mahila, youth, student, legal and Hyderabad convenor of youth wing — of Telangana Jagruthi and all of them belong to the Backward Classes (BCs). Sources close to Kavitha said Telangana Jagruthi founder is planning to appoint district wise convenors and state office-bearers in a week. She named Maripelli Madhavi as state convenor of Telangana Jagruthi Mahila Samakhya, Edurugatla Sampath Goud as state convenor of Telangana Jagruthi Yuvajana Samakhya, Appala Narender Yadav as legal cell convenor, Janapati Ramu Yadav as Vidyarthi Samakhya and Parakala Manoj Goud as Hyderabad convenor of Telangana Jagruthi Yuvajana Samakya.Telangana Jagruthi sources said there were no office-bearers for Jagruthi for the past three years ever since Telangana Jagruthi became Bharat Jagruthi along when TRS became BRS. With the strengthening of Jagruthi, she can have her own leaders and workers to take up activities, the sources said. The sources said Kavitha has been carrying out her activities such as BC round tables on 42% BC reservations in various districts and other activities such as dharnas for installing Jyothirao Phule statue in assembly and giving representation to BC commission on BC quota, etc., with the help of Jagruthi workers.“Kavitha held the meetings on ‘social Telangana’, BC reservations and also Jyothirao Phule statue with Jagruthi workers. In some districts such as Kamareddy, where Congress had declared BC declaration before the 2023 assembly polls, and Banswada, BRS local presidents or important leaders did not attend the meeting. Even in Mulugu district when Kavitha went to Samakka-Sarakka a few weeks ago, Jayashankar Bhoopalapally BRS important leaders, including a leader who contested the 2023 assembly elections on BRS ticket, did not accompany or meet Kavitha,” a senior leader close to Kavitha told TOI.Apart from party chief and her father K Chandrasekhar Rao and even the district leaders, according to sources, started ignored her, which she felt bad. But some some ex-ministers and MLAs still respect her and attend the meetings in their respective constituencies.
