20,000 km with my Hyundai i20 N-Line: Overall mileage & experience

A year with Blue Boy & 20,000 kilometers (well almost)

My car completed 1 year of ownership on the 1st of May. I still enjoy driving it daily, pushing it every now and then to remind myself that I bought the NLine

K&N filter installation

Got the K&N replacement air filter installed sometime in mid December, the odo was somewhere around 11200kms. While there is no perceivable change in performance (not that I was expecting it either), it is a small step towards getting an ECU tune sometime this year, maybe.

New year day’s drive around NCR

On the 1st of Jan, I decided to just aimlessly drive around NCR. I left home in Gurgaon post breakfast and ended up covering about 185kms in NCR before getting back home in the evening.

Lord Alto strikes

Got into a snaffu with an incorrigible aunty in an Alto, hell bent on creating a 3rd lane in between 2 directions of traffic, on a narrow road, ended up hitting my rear bumper on the right side. There was no point in taking this anywhere since she obviously did not understand what she had done wrong, so I just let it go.

Lucknow Trip

I took a weekend trip to Lucknow to attend a close friend’s wedding in mid April. During this trip I realized that driving for 7 hours on empty expressway’s with only 100kmph as the speed limit is extremely boring. The condition of the Agra to Lucknow stretch is also not the best, with the road surface bumpy at many places. Had a good time in the city, got a chance to eat kebabs from Tunday Kebabi.

Thanks to this trip I covered about 2,329 kms in April, which has been my highest ever in this car.

3rd free service

I got the 3rd free service done at 19080kms, opted to get it done at Professional Hyundai. I had my 2nd service done there as well. I had one complaint, which was squeaking noise from the driver passenger window (it was not from the trim, but the glass moving against the rubber beading). They corrected the glass alignment and the issue got resolved.

Total came to INR 3,283, which was cheaper than the 2nd service.
