In a first, Andhra’s ruling TDP kicks off annual conclave in Opposition stronghold Kadapa | Hyderabad News

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) ‘s Three-Day Annual Conclave’ Mahanadu ‘Started Today in Kadapa. This is the first time the party is holding the conclave in Kadapa – A Stronghold of the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP).

This year’s Mahanadu is not just a political conclave—it is a celebration of Telugu pride, grassroots power, and the TDP’s commitment to building a progressive, inclusive Andhra Pradesh, TDP supremo and Chief Minister N Naidu Music said.

In his inaugural addressNaidu said that the TDP has many times played a crucial role in key decisions taken by successive governments at the Centre.

He said that the party has set new trends in welfare, reforms, and development. “What Andhra Pradesh thinks today, India thinks tomorrow,’’ he said.

Stating that the TDP has overcome several challenges over its 43 years history, Naidu said that it was predicted that the party was finished, particularly after its election debacle in 2019.

“But TDP’s flag has always flown high,” he said. Promising good governance, Naidu vowed that the NDA state government is committed to accountability and would not spare those guilty of corruption. “We have decades of experience, strategic vision, and support from the Centre, and we are building a strong foundation for a prosperous Andhra Pradesh,” he said.

He asserted that under the coalition government, people have regained their freedom from fear, vendetta politics, and misgovernance.

He pledged to complete the Polavaram project, bring Godavari water to Rayalaseema, reduce logistics costs, and make the state a hub for green energy and hydrogen. He promised that free bus travel for women would be implemented from August 15, an election guarantee.

Nara Lokeshstate minister and TDP general secretary, who introduced several resolutions said that the need for contemporary reforms within the party to remain relevant and impactful. “We must discuss and implement plans that take the party forward for the next 40 years. Change is inevitable, and TDP has always believed in evolving with the times.”

Six resolutions
Lokesh proposed six resolutions to guide the party and the people into a stronger future:

  • *Global Recognition for Telugu Identity: TDP will strive to elevate the global standing of Telugu people beyond caste, religion, or region. From NTR’s defiance of central authority to Chandrababu Naidu putting Telugu pride on the global map, this legacy must continue.
  • *Youth Empowerment (Yuvagalam): TDP will prioritize opportunities for youth. The party welcomes both senior and junior leaders, encouraging merit over hierarchy. TDP highlighted the creation of thousands of jobs, the attraction of major industries like TCS and Reliance, and the goal to create 20 lakh employment opportunities.
  • *Women Empowerment (Sthree Shakti): From NTR’s move to provide women equal property rights to Chandrababu Naidu’s economic empowerment initiatives, TDP has a strong record on gender equity. Party leaders vowed to ensure safety, representation, and equal responsibility for women in all spheres, including within the party.
  • *Social Re-engineering- Pro Poor: TDP aims to eradicate poverty through innovative welfare models. From subsidized essentials to pensions and housing, The party reiterated the commitment to social justice, especially for backward communities, under the P-4 (poverty alleviation) concept.
  • *Support for Farmers: Farmers are the backbone of society, and TDP has always stood by them. From irrigation to crop subsidies, the party has taken initiatives that led Andhra Pradesh to top ranks in agriculture. The party promised continued support, ensuring fair prices and financial assistance to the farming community.
  • *Cadre as the Backbone – Workers are Leaders: Lokesh paid heartfelt tributes to loyal party workers, recounting stories of bravery and sacrifice. “In TDP, the worker is the real leader,” he said. The party has provided insurance, education, healthcare, and employment support to its cadre, and is now formulating a dedicated plan to empower them further.
