Hyderabad: Children from Moosapet turned up at the GHMC Prajavani on Monday and urged officials to build a park in their area. In Anjaneya Nagar, land originally designated for a park had been encroached upon by some individuals. Recently, GHMC officials and police removed the encroachments and secured the land.
The children said `50 lakh had been approved earlier for developing the park, but work has stalled due to delays in fund release. “If the government releases the money, the park can be built. We want a place to play with our friends,” they said.
Apart from the one lodged by children, the GHMC Prajavani logged 165 complaints. Additional commissioner Sneha Sabareesh directed officials to resolve the grievances. Out of 62 petitions received at the GHMC head office, 33 were related to the town planning department.
At the collectorate, district collector Anudeep Durishetty instructed officials to review and address the 86 applications submitted during Prajavani. The collector emphasised the need for prompt examination and immediate action.
Meanwhile, GHMC officials launched a pre-monsoon sanitation drive at NBT Nagar in Banjara Hills on Monday. additional commissioner Raghu Prasad announced the provision of Swachh auto services for residents to dispose of household garbage and encouraged the setting up of harvest pits.
