Vallabhaneni Vamsi gets treatment for obstructive sleep apnea at GGH Guntur

YSRCP former MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi, who is under judicial remand for various cases, was given treatment for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) at Government General Hospital in Guntur on Monday on the advice of Superintendent of Vijayawada prison and was sent back.

Obstructive sleep apnea is a sleep disorder that affects breathing while sleeping , informed Dr. SSV Ramana, GGH Superintendent.

The Superintendent of GGH further informed that since the hospital didn’t have a functioning ‘sleepless plethysmography’ machine, the concerned doctors tested him physically and prescribed required medicine and suggested to get tested in any other hospital where the facility is available. At the same time, he said that the patient condition was stable.

Sleepless plethysmography’ refers to the use of plethysmography, a technique for studying the effects of sleep deprivation or other sleep disorders, he explained.

It’s worth mentioning here that the YSRCP leader was in prison on judicial remand, for multiple criminal cases booked against him
