Hyderabad: A 50-year-old housewife died at a private hospital in Kothaguda due to medical complications arising from an alleged overdose of prescribed anti-depressant medication.The deceased, Ranjana Kumar, was the wife of Manoj Kumar, a public sector undertaking (PSU) official residing in Gachibowli. According to the police, Ranjana was brought to the hospital around 1.30 pm on May 24 after she began experiencing severe vomiting and breathing difficulties.In his complaint to the police, Manoj Kumar stated that his wife’s symptoms began after she consumed multiple doses of her prescribed anti-depressant medication. He also informed authorities that she had been battling depression for over 15 years and had suffered similar health episodes in the past.Despite emergency medical attention, Ranjana was declared dead at 4 pm the same day.Based on the complaint filed in the early hours of Sunday, a case was registered at the Gachibowli police station under section 194 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The body has been shifted to the morgue for autopsy, and further investigation is underway.
