So, here are the first images of the electric KTM Duke! The electric bike, which made its debut at the 2022 annual Pierer Mobility Investor presentation, was recently put up on display at KTM’s Motohall display area in Mattighofen, Austria. While there is no official word on its India arrival, the KTM e-Duke is expected to make its way here in future. The showcased model was in its prototype form, painted in dual-tone black and red colours.
Design & Features:

KTM has taken a futuristic approach while designing the electric Duke. Its headlamp design appears to be inspired by the new 990 Duke and 1390 Super Duke, while the air scoop extending under the swingarm is MotoGP-inspired. The bike features KTM’s signature fuel tank and fuel tank extensions. The electric KTM Duke has 3D-printed seat along with the wide handlebars, a scooter-like handbrake for the rear brake and a 4.3-inch TFT display (borrowed from the 390 Enduro R).
In the images, you can notice a space between the headstock and the fuel tank, which is expected to work as an air intake to cool down the battery. There is also the charging cable, suggest the presence of an on-board charger as we have seen in the Bajaj Chetak. This electric bike underpins the main trellis frame, and features offset rear shock suspension and aluminium swingarm.
Battery, Range & Power:
The powertrain details of the KTM e-Duke are not available at the moment. However, the model showcased back in 2022 was equipped with a 5.5kWh battery pack and a 10kW electric motor. This setup is expected to deliver a range of over 100km. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel through a chain.
Bajaj To Take Over KTM:
In other updates, Bajaj Auto is all set to take control of KTM operations, rescuing the debt-ridden company by offering a debt funding package worth €800 million (approximately Rs. 7,200 crore). While €200 million has already been invested in tranches since FY2024 to ensure business continuity, the remaining €600 was recently invested to meet creditor obligations and reboot operations.
